Whiteley is a planned modern development off junction 9 of the M27, sitting between Fareham and Southampton. Almost entirely modern housing — 1990s through to current new-build phases at North Whiteley — much of it now at the age where original fascia, soffit and gutter installations need replacement. Frequent territory for us.

The original 1990s phases have standard concrete-tile roofs that are still well within their useful life, but original uPVC roofline (fascia, soffit, gutter) is now reaching the 25-30 year mark where original fixings have weakened, gutters have started to sag and soffits have lost rigidity. Strip-and-replace in modern uPVC over 2-3 days is the standard recommendation. We typically use Freefoam or Swish systems with concealed fixings, vented soffits with integrated bird mesh, and gutters specified to the right size for the actual roof area rather than the original spec.

The 2000s phases through central Whiteley have similar but slightly newer stock — original installs have another 5-10 years in them for the most part. Work here is typically isolated repair (storm-damaged sections, isolated leaks) rather than full strip-and-replace.

The new North Whiteley and current new-build phases are still under developer warranty; we will not do warranty work that should fall to the original installer, but we are happy to quote anything outside warranty cover.

Curbridge, Burridge and the older village fringe to the west of the M27 have a different mix — period cottage, Victorian and inter-war estate property — where chimney work, slate repair and traditional lead-flashing work are more typical.
